Birmingham – May 9, 2006 – Océ’s stand during Sign UK will be home to the UVjet 215-Plus Printer that will include Amber 3.0 control software that has innovative new features.
It will be delivered as standard with all new four- and six-colour versions of the UVjet 215-Plus printer and is further available as an upgrade to all existing Zünd UVjet owners.
Thanks to a unique new dot placement algorithm, certain banding effects that have become commonly known as curing lines are now eliminated especially in uni-directional print modes. Image quality and solid colours appear much smoother.
Image quality is generally depending on how well each individual nozzle is performing. Over time and in a UV curable inkjet printer some nozzle deterioration must always be expected. Print-heads therefore have to be considered as wear items and add to the total cost of ownership. How long a printhead lasts or how fast individual nozzles deteriorate depends on many factors including maintenance routines, dust and ambient UV light for instance.
With Amber 3.0, Zünd has introduced a unique new nozzle compensation technology developed to overcome problems of nozzle deteroration problems. The nozzle compensation feature allows the operator to simply deactivate individual deviated or blocked nozzles. Deactivated nozzles are automatically compensated by other well functioning nozzles - mostly without any loss of productivity.
New UVjet benefits include · printhead life is extended and total cost of ownership thereby reduced · higher print quality and smoother solid colours · continued production with highest image quality, even with deteriorated print-heads · print-head replacement can be scheduled at convenient times
