Birmingham – May 9, 2006 –Océ is using Sign UK as the platform for the UK launch of a raft of new products for the fourth year running. Two of these are the Océ CS9065 and the Océ CS7100 machines, which build on Océ’s expanding capability and growth path in the display graphics market.

The Océ CS9065 is a high quality, production speed printer that can use either low-solvent or eco-solvent inks to create outdoor-durable prints.  The dual-ink capability gives users flexibility in where the unit can be operated:  in light industrial, print shop or office environments.

The Océ CS9065 (165 cm wide) is a high speed, high quality printing system that delivers outdoor durable output. The Océ CS9065 offers true 720 x 720 dpi resolution at print speeds up to 13 m2 per hour in production (four-pass) mode. In high speed (two-pass) mode print speeds up to 22 m2 per hour can be achieved with a resolution of 360 x 720 dpi. Top print speeds of up to 42 m2 per hour can be achieved at 360 x 360 dpi resolution.

The Océ CS9065 offers superior print quality, speed and ink economy through the use of Dynamic Variable Dot Imaging Technology, the next evolution of piezo inkjet technology that enables a printhead to produce dots with variable sizes versus printheads using fixed dot technology.

The use of Dynamic Variable Dot Imaging Technology has the following customer benefits:
· Superior print quality: Finer details and smoother gradients in highlight areas and crisp colours in the mid-tones and shadows.
· Double the productivity: Four-colour printing is perfect for all application areas. It doubles the productivity of the Océ CS9065 because the use of two CMYK inksets doubles the number of printhead nozzles per color.
· Superior ink economy: The ink usage of the Océ CS9065 is significantly lower compared to the ink usage of six colour printers using fixed dot inkjet technology; 25 to 35 percent less ink is used.

The Océ CS9065 is equipped with a motorized winder and unwinder unit enabling the use of bulk media rolls up to 100kg. It can also be equipped with either low-solvent or eco-solvent inks that
offer excellent outdoor durability up to three years.

The Océ CS9065 is ideal for short run print jobs and is designed for light production environments where high quality output and outdoor durability are required. Sample applications include point-of-purchase displays, vehicle graphics, transit advertising, exhibit graphics, banners, museum graphics, wayfinding and window displays.

Océ’s other new product making its first public showing in the UK is the Océ 7100, which is the ‘big brother’ of the company’s already highly successful CS7075 high quality UV curable inkjet printer for rigid and flexible output.

It is an affordable printer that can print on roll-based media or flat substrates up to 2.5m wide and up to 12.7mm thick.  It uses UV curable inks to produce vibrant output with an outdoor durability of up to three years and offerstrue 600 x 600 dpi resolution at print speeds of up to 37 m² per hour.

The Océ CS7100 includes roller tables to support rigid media up to 152 cm; optional tables available for rigid media up to 305cm.

Other benefits include production printing at 37m² per hour in billboard mode and optimised workflow in combination with Onyx RIP Software.

Wilbert Verheyen, Director of Océ UK Ltd’s Wide Format Printing Systems, said: “This is the fourth year that we have launched new products at Sign UK, which is a clear demonstration and commitment of our capabilities and growth path in the all-important market sector.”
