Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill, Scotland – May 11, 2007 – Océ’s growing presence in Scotland has been celebrated with an open day for staff, customers and invited guests at the offices where employee numbers have doubled in the last four years alone.
The modern, hi-tech premises – complete with a new showroom dedicated to serving the business community in Scotland – in Strathclyde Business Park in North Lanarkshire was the venue for the milestone event that ran from 10am to 4pm.
On show was a selection of Océ’s mono and colour printers that produce from 16 to 250 pages per minute.
Strathclyde Business Park, with excellent facilities and excellent transport links to Glasgow and Edinburgh, has provided an ideal location for Océ for the last four years. Océ required a prime location at a modern business park to reflect the fact it is one of the world’s top-50 IT companies with a go-ahead international reputation to match.
Since Océ first moved to Strathclyde Business Park in 2003, staff numbers have increased to 45 – and there are plans for further expansion.
Bron Curley, Deputy Managing Director of Océ UK Ltd, told more than 50 guests plus staff at the open day held in Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill, that Océ had a proud heritage in Scotland going back more than 50 years.
“We have doubled our numbers of staff here in the last three years and it gives me great pleasure to say that we are very optimistic about our future here in North Lanarkshire,” he said. “With the addition of our new office products division also now based here, we are in a position to offer the best products and most comprehensive selection in the industry, ranging from office products to very high volume machines.
He added: “Our investment will clearly continue to support that growth in Scotland.”
Stephen Lynch, Océ Imagistics division UK national sales manager, who was born and bred near the current offices, said: “We were delighted to open our doors to our customers and fellow neighbours at Strathclyde Business Park, who were able to view some of our world-class document management solutions on display in our enlarged showrooms.”
