Brentwood, Essex, October 13, 2006 – Océ, a world leader in digital transactional printing systems, is sponsoring the first ever ‘Digital Print’ category at the UK Mail Awards.

The digital print award aims to highlight mail users or producers that can demonstrate how the innovative or creative use of digital print or the digital print process is able to add real value to the mail piece. Judges will be looking for a return on investment and how digital print was able to add additional value. Specific attention will be given to print innovation through convergence.

Declan Curry, the Business Presenter on BBC Breakfast and BBC News 24, will present the winner with the award at a gala dinner, held at the Novotel London West on Tuesday 31 October.

Simon Wheeler, director of Océ (UK) Ltd’s Digital Document Systems, said: “We are delighted to sponsor the first ever digital print category at the UK mail awards.  Digital print has made a huge impact on the direct mail industry, with companies now able to effectively and efficiently add value to their mailings.  As one of our core markets, we believe it is important for us to celebrate these achievements.”
