Brentwood, Essex – May 4, 2007 – Océ has celebrated more sales success for its flagship VarioPrint 6250 cutsheet printer, the world’s fastest perfecting digital system on the market.

Both machines displayed at Northprint in Harrogate have gone to their new homes – at Mask Documents in London and Elanders in Newcastle, which both signed deals at the show.

Elanders, a global media solutions company that includes print management and traditional printing in its core activities, invested in the Océ VarioPrint 6250 because it is increasingly going digital for the printing previously done by offset. In addition, Elanders needs more capacity after recently winning new print work with a major motor manufacturer and a household name in the electrical equipment supply business.

Paul Jacques, finance director, Elanders Newcastle, said: “The reason we invested in the Océ VarioPrint 6250 is because of the high quality output, perfecting capabilities and an online solution that will save money in the long run. We are delighted to be one of the first companies in the UK to take delivery of this new digital press, and now we are even more confident of winning further contracts.”

Mask Documents, whose clients include companies in the financial, design and publishing sectors, chose Océ at the end of last year to provide digital printing presses – both colour and mono – to deliver on projects and expand future business. Business growth has led to the company taking on the Océ VarioPrint 6250 and an Océ CS650 colour machine.

Julian Mason, managing director, Mask Documents, said: “Within the corporate finance sector we work to tight timescales and need to reduce lead times and increase capacity, while at the same time maintaining current levels of quality and reliability. Now our increased capability and capacity should give us further opportunities for expansion.”

He added: “Océ’s back-up support, from the sales staff and technicians to management, has also been superb, which is also just what we need as a new business. Océ has certainly been the best option for us.”

Simon Wheeler, head of Océ UK Ltd’s Commercial Division, said: “Both Mask Documents and Elanders have discovered the benefits of this revolutionary technology, which is taking the digital production market by storm. Both have invested in state-of-the-art equipment that provides the capability and capacity to expand into other markets.

“Our stand at Northprint, which had the theme of ‘Beyond the Ordinary’, was a fantastic success.  The value of being at the show has been proved by the fact that we’ve returned with a bulging order book and some extremely positive sales leads.”
