Former professional rugby player Craig Nethercott has been appointed Océ UK Ltd’s new Sector Manager for Graphic Arts, reporting to Simon Wheeler, Director of the Commercial Division for Digital Document Systems.

Nethercott, 35, who has been promoted from a Senior Account Manager role for Océ, has a proven track record in winning new accounts, particularly in the financial services and utilities sector, markets served by Océ’s Graphic Arts customers. These have included EDF Energy, Northern Trust and JP Morgan Chase.

Wheeler said: “This promotion is yet more evidence of our increased resourcing in the Graphic Arts sector, which is an increasingly important focus for our business. Craig is an achiever with a high degree of integrity with excellent communication, client handling and negotiation skills.”

Sports enthusiast Nethercott, who married Lucy in September, has played Welsh schoolboys rugby followed by a career as a professional, spending almost nine years in western Australia playing and coaching Rugby Union. He also plays golf, is a keep-fit enthusiast and keen recreational diver.

He said: “This is a new challenge that I’ll relish. I look forward to helping Océ continue to expansion its business and reputation in the Graphic Arts market – there are some great opportunities for growth.”

In another appointment, continuous feed sales specialist James Hansen has joined Océ from Xerox. He reports to Nethercott and is using his experience and established reputation to sell continuous feed line and cut-sheet production printers in the graphic arts market sector.
