Brentwood, Essex – June 1, 2007 – Kettering-based 4DM, a market leader in the UK in direct marketing services, has installed two award-winning Océ VarioPrint 5160 cutsheet production printers. The investment is part of the company’s strategy to use the latest technology to offer its customers a high level of service, at the same time as realising cost and production efficiencies.
The company’s group sales and marketing director Robin Skinner said: “4DM has a policy of continually upgrading hardware and software to ensure we stay at the leading-edge of the industry. The purchase of the two VarioPrint 5160s is in keeping with this process, and ensures that we can offer our clients the highest level of quality whilst enjoying maximum efficiencies within our production operation.
“The direct mail market is characterised by a need for flexible printing systems that can handle a wide range of substrates, datastreams and finishing options, because direct mail printers often have little or no control over the demands of prospective clients. We are confident the Océ VarioPrint 5160s will deliver the levels of flexibility and versatility that we demand in our business.”
Designed for maximum flexibility and to handle the most demanding workloads, the Océ VarioPrint 5000 is a production machine of unequalled versatility. With a speed of up to 162 ppm the printer features a total paper input capacity of 10,400 sheets via eight input drawers. Each drawer is separately addressable, format-sensing and capable of handling all paper sizes up to A3+ as well as different qualities of stock from 60 to 200 g/m2.
The Océ VarioPrint 5000 series has won a number of prestigious BERTL awards, including the “Best Award”, “Best High-End Print Shop Spot Colour Device”, Exceptional Award” and “Better Buys for Business Editor’s Choice Award”.
Simon Wheeler, Océ UK’s business unit director for Digital Document Systems said it is Oce’s flexible and supportive approach towards its partners which provides a key differentiation between Océ and its competitors. He said: “It is fair to say that the VarioPrint 5160 is now recognised in the industry as a sound investment for printers such as 4DM operating in the commercial and direct mail sectors, which is backed up by our continued sales successes in the UK.
“It has the flexibility to print monochrome, MICR or highlight colour on the same print engine, and I’m confident it will allow 4DM to continue expanding its leading position in the industry and delivering the highest standard of products and services for its customers.”
