Powder toners in Océ copiers and printers have similar characteristics to those in many other plain paper copiers. |  |
Note that toners are not interchangeable, and you must use ONLY the correct toner for that model. Use of the wrong toner will result in severe copy quality problems which will require extensive remedial work which is not included in the rental / lease / service contract. |

The toners are not listed as hazardous substances, and as such users require no special protection for the normal purpose for which it is supplied. Note that the material safety data sheets describe in broad terms only those chemicals and data which are required to give the health and safety advice required by law. They are NOT a technical specification, and identical material safety data sheets for two products do not mean that they are interchangeable.
For models which do not use a cartridge, shaking the bottle vigorously just before removing its cap will ensure that it pours smoothly, and minimises any dust cloud (Shaking generates a slight temporary electrostatic charge on each particle which reduces friction). No special precautions are required.

Toner may be disposed of as normal waste, though it should be sealed in a bag to contain the fine powder (click here for environmental information). Should any toner be spilt, it is best to gently sweep up as much as possible without raising a dust cloud, and to remove the remainder with a damp cloth or by rinsing clothing in cold water. Hot water should be avoided as it may cause the toner to partially melt and become sticky. For the same reasons, the bottles should be stored away from sources of heat such as radiators, or direct sunlight. |
