Toner is the most expensive element in the service contract, and therefore good stock management is essential to be able to offer you attractive contract prices. The machine counter readings are necessary to monitor usage and to notice if a replenishment request has been duplicated by several people. Your assistance in ensuring availability of replacement toner when required but without excessive stock would be appreciated.
Excessive toner consumption will also contaminate the machine's mechanism, result in degraded copy quality and lower reliability. Some points to bear in mind are:

Use the document feeder whenever possible (if fitted). |

If placing the original on the platen glass, lower the document feeder or platen cover to keep the original flat against the glass. If copying from a book or an original which is smaller than the copy paper, place paper or white card around the edges. Not only will this minimise the black border and excessive toner, it will also reduce the glare from the exposure lamps. |

Use the automatic exposure control (if fitted). The reference exposure level for a good quality original can usually be adjusted by the key operator - see the machine's instruction manual. |

Drum / Process Unit / Masterband replacement
Some models have drum or process units which are designed to replaced by the operator:
2500, 2600, 3100:
Order masterbands from the form or by telephone to 0870 600 0623. The life of each masterband should be in excess of 250,000 copies.
3012:
Telephone the Service Call Centre (0870 600 6498) when the 'Change Process Unit' indicator lights. Our technical support team will arrange for new units to be dispatched immediately. Note that a new toner cartridge must be fitted at the same time. The life of the process units is approximately 30,000 copies.
3121, 3122:
Telephone the Service Call Centre (0870 600 6498) when 'Waste Toner Full' message appears or the copy quality has deteriorated and the actions detailed in the copier operation pages do not resolve the problem. Our technical support team will confirm your diagnosis and arrange for a new drum unit to be dispatched if necessary. The life of the drum unit should be in excess of 60,000 copies/prints.
