Production printing: the technology
These new benchmarks have been realized thanks to Océ Gemini Instant Duplex Technology. Although over 80% of cutsheet printing jobs today are duplex, all existing systems are designed for single-sided printing, meaning that each sheet must be fed through twice to produce double-sided prints. But with Instant Duplex Technology, toner images are pressed into both sides of the paper simultaneously. The result: greater speed and efficiency, lower costs, and offset-like print quality.
To match its much higher printing speed, the Océ VarioPrint 6250 also has an exceptionally large and flexible paper input/output capacity, handling A3, A4, RA3, ledger and letter, as well as oversized and custom media and tabs and inserts from any of its 12 trays.
Up to 13,800 sheets of any size can be loaded at once, allowing unattended printing for as long as 4 hours. Extra paper supplies can be loaded on-the-fly, allowing speeds of up to 16,000 prints per hour with minimal operator attention.
