Description
For systems delivered without screen, keyboard or mouse, it is possible to switch between security levels using floppy disks.
For explanation on Security levels, please refer to your TDS/TCS documentation and your local Océ representative.
There is one diskette per security level: - 1 diskette to switch to HIGH security level. - 1 diskette to switch to MEDIUM security level. - 1 diskette to switch to STANDARD / Normal security level.
We deliver 3 executables to build the diskettes.
The procedure to install/use the floppy disk is identical as a customer installable patch procedure.
1) Create the 3 diskettes for Security Pack Guiless
1-1) Download the 3 executables mentionned above :
Guiless_secupack_HIGH_V20.exe
Guiless_secupack_MEDIUM_V20.exe
Guiless_secupack_STD_Normal_V20.exe
1-2) Save each of the 3 executables on your local computer. Note: There is one executable file per security level.
1-3) Collect 3 floppy disks
1-4) For each executable, Double click on it, this will guide you through the creation process of the diskette.
1-5) Follow the instructions to build the diskette.
1-6) Put a sticker corresponding to the security level (HIGH, MEDIUM or STANDARD / Normal) and the release (V2.0) on each created diskette
* Guiless_secupack_HIGH_V20.exe stands for HIGH security level, * Guiless_secupack_MEDIUM_V20.exe stands for MEDIUM security level * Guiless_secupack_STD_Normal_V20.exe stands for STANDARD or Normal security level
2) Install or change the security level on the Océ Power Logic Controller
2-1) Shut down the Océ Power Logic Controller.
2-2) Insert the diskette containing the level needed (HIGH, MEDIUM or STANDARD / Normal) in the controller disk drive.
2-3) Restart the controller.
2-4) Wait until the process is completed: a melody is played (a 3 tonal beeps played twice). Notes: - The controller restarts automatically before the melody is played.
2-5) Remove the diskette. Notes: - 2 rapid beeps are played when the security level has already been installed. - Nothing happens or 7 rapid beeps are played when the level cannot be installed (e.g. when not compatible with the Océ TDSxx0/TCSx00 version).
3) How to identify the security level installed On system without any Screen/Keyboard/Mouse, the way to identify the security level is through "Print Settings" :
3-1). Make a print settings (refer to your printer User Manual for more details).
3-2). Go to the last printout page in the section SDS - CONTROL PARAMETERS 22-1. The last line is called: Patches installed=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXY Check the last character Y: If Y= 2 or 6 or A or E ---> HIGH security level is installed If Y= 1 or 5 or 9 or D ---> MEDIUM security level is installed If Y= 0 or 4 or 8 or C ---> STANDARD /Normal security level is installed
