In order to be as fast as possible for installing security patches, Océ and EFI offer a System Update tool. This tool will check for relevent patches via the Internet. The tool offers several methods of working, enabling you to seamlessly fit the tool into your company's IT policy.
You can check whether or not the tool is already installed on the controller via:
Install the System Update utility:
Download patch 1-H23O1.PS
Make sure the controller is in idle state
Import the patch into the direct (or print queue) of the controller
Wait one minute after the controller has returned to idle
Shut down the controller
Restart and print a configuration page to check if the patch is installed
Activating the utility shows the following options:
Notify if a new patch is found (default)
Notify if a new patch is found AND download the patch onto the controller
Download AND install the patch AND reboot to activate the patches at a pre-defined time.
Be aware that you might need to configure a proxy server in order to be able to connect to the Internet. Please consult your local IT department for information.
