The Océ CS4040/4050 Series scanners give you the power to say yes, whatever your customers' requests may be: monochrome CAD and other line work, black-and-white and grey-scale materials, colour maps, posters and display panels, right up to full-colour photographic originals. Whether these are flexible or mounted on rigid boards, the Océ CS4040/4050 handles them with equal ease and efficiency. The Océ CS4040/4050 Series let you add extra dimensions to your range of customer services. These versatile scanners handle even oversized document formats, with widths of up to 40 and 50 inches (127 cm). And they also accept large originals mounted on rigid boards up to 0.6 inch (15 mm) thick. Which saves you a lot of time and trouble in cutting extra-wide documents to size or removing them from mounting boards.
Choice of models to meet your scanning needs
You can choose from a range of six models to meet your own colour scanning needs, from entry-level to advanced. With a range of resolutions and speeds, these scanners provide the right basis for your colour copying system or converting hard-copy drawings into secure and conveniently accessible digital files. See the Specifications page for more information.
Advanced colour scanning for consistent results
Maximising the quality of your scanning results, the Océ CS4040/4050 scanners give you 36-bit colour data capture. Transfer of the most useful 24 bits of colour data to the host system allows reproduction at up to 16 million colours, and helps to remove background "noise" and improve definition. Resolution is up to 800 dpi enhanced (400 dpi optical), and can be varied continuously from 50 dpi upwards to optimise performance on specific scanning jobs. The high colour depth also reproduces monochrome work faithfully, with the capability to render a large grey-scale range.
Optimised performance on technical drawings
To maximise the accuracy of colour reproduction and keep colour scan file sizes under control, these scanners have a unique colour object extraction function which reduces all colours to a restricted set of colours defined in a colour look-up table. All scanned input is then referred to the specified standard colours only. This solution is ideal for originals using a limited and specific range of colours, such as technical drawings, maps or corporate identity materials. It ensures precise, consistent reproduction of the defined colours every time, as well as saving storage space and scanning and data transfer overhead.
Multi-platform compatibility
Integration of one of the Océ CS4050/4050 scanners into your working environment is easy, thanks to their versatile support for the most widely used hardware and software platforms and applications. The scanners are compatible with host computers using Windows 95/98 and NT, and can produce scanned data output in as many as 50 different file formats, including TIFF, JPEG, PCX, BMP, RAS, RTL and many more. They also support a range of RIP and colour copying software packages.
