Energy Star
The Océ 3045 copier complies with the stringent criteria of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star programme, which assesses energy efficiency, power consumption, noise levels, and economical use of materials.

 

Top Ten Award (1995) and Design Award, Industrie Forum, Germany
In 1995, the Océ 3045 was one of ten products from over 1,200 (and the only photocopier) to be selected from hundreds of entries for its excellent design. According to the award issuers, ''It is an exemplary product and fully proves that electronics can indeed make it easier to use things.'' The following year, Industrie Forum awarded a second accolade specifically for the design of Océ 3045's user interface.

 

"Exceptional Machine" (1997), BERTL
When tested by BERTL in accordance with bench-marked and approved standards, the Océ 3045 achieved a level of technical efficiency which BERTL classifies in its highest category, "Exceptional Machine".

 

Design Award (1996), BERTL
BERTL [previously known as the Photocopier and Business Users' Association (PBEUA)] issued a Design Award to the Océ 3045 for its ''unique overall design and single pass duplex facility'', recognising it as the ''fastest A4 duplexer'' in the 35-59 copy per minute speed category.

"Editor's Choice" (1995-96; 1998-99), Better Buys for Business [USA]
In the mid-volume category, the Océ 3045 has won an Editor's Choice accolade in not one but four years. The Better Buys for Business report notes: "The outstanding document feeder uses air separation to help ensure exceptionally reliable handling of the most challenging originals... Océ copiers have an enviable reputation for being economical to run. Under the hood, the Océ 3045 is, above all, a classic Océ."

 

"Recommended" (1997), Buyers Laboratory, Inc. (BLI)
After comparatively assessing specifications, performance, maintenance costs, malfunction, and waste minimisation among copiers in its class, Buyers Laboratory concludes that the Océ 3045 is "an easy-to-use, productive and extremely reliable copier".

"The sturdily constructed Océ 3045 exhibited an extraordinary overall reliability performance," report the BLI award issuers. "Indeed, during its 450,000 impression BLI evaluation, the test unit required only a single service call and, remarkably, it experienced only four misfeeds, for an outstanding rate of one misfeed per 112,500 impressions."
