Bringing simultaneous duplex to mid production “The mid production printing segment is expanding very quickly,” says Jan Henk Bokma, Océ International Product Line Manager for the Océ VarioPrint 6140. “The Océ VarioPrint 6140 is ideal for quick printers, in-house corporate printrooms and small and mid-size commercial printers. It provides speed, reliable inline finishing, and large and flexible paper handling capabilities, all of which are crucial to these environments. This was a perfect opportunity to introduce all the advantages of Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology to this wider audience.”
The Océ VarioPrint 6140 is intended for environments that print between 300,000 and 1.5 million prints per month.
Accurate and reliable instant duplex printing The Océ VarioPrint 6140 presses the toner directly onto the paper. This allows the toner to fuse at much lower temperatures than with xerography without waste or dust. This lower-fusing temperature also means media doesn’t curl when put through the systems.
In addition to Océ Gemini Instant Duplexing, the Océ VarioPrint 6140 provides:
- Perfect registration accuracy when printing books, manuals and other publications
- Runability at rated speed, of a variety of media, including coated and heavy stock
- Correct printing on pre-printed and pre-punched media
- Productive printing on oversized and custom media
- An intuitive interface that gives users comprehensive control of the systems
End-to-end modularity The Océ VarioPrint 6140 is fully modular from submission to delivery. Key components are the Océ Smart Imager Controller, which brings high performance, multi-tasking capabilities, high RIP speed and open architecture to a company’s IT infrastructure. Inline finishing options include bookmakers and set finishers. In addition, the systems are fully supported by the Océ PRISMA software suite, designed to promote high workflow efficiency and seamless integration in third-party printing environments.
