Advanced print technologies
The Océ CS9160 offers superior ink economy and print quality through the
use of Océ CS9000 VariaDot™ imaging technology and WAVE Stitching print
modes.
Océ CS9000 VariaDot imaging technology
Océ CS9000 VariaDot imaging technology produces dots with variable drop sizes to deliver finer details, smoother gradients and sharper images. The
use of Océ CS9000 VariaDot imaging technology results in significantly lower
ink usage of the Océ CS9160 when compared to the ink usage of six color
printers using fixed dot inkjet technology; 25 to 35 percent less ink is used.
WAVE Stitching
WAVE Stitching was first introduced in the Océ CS9000 Series; it prints in ‘waves’ instead of straight bands resulting in higher print quality, improved productivity and increased media versatility. In the Océ CS9160, WAVE Stitching is available in all print modes. With WAVE Stitching, the Océ CS9160 can produce prints with consistent quality in Production print modes, even when more demanding media are used. The level of banding in Production print modes is greatly reduced to less than that of many solvent printers in High Quality mode.
Expanded ink capacity
The Océ CS9160 offers expanded ink capacity with its ability to use 440 ml
cartridges. With 440 ml of ink always on-line, productivity is increased because
ink change-outs are decreased by half over printers using standard 220 ml cartridges.
Improved print speeds
The Océ CS9160 offers improved print speeds over its predecessor, the Océ
CS9060, without sacrificing quality. Print speeds of up to 18.3 square meters (197 square feet) per hour at 720 x 720 dpi are achievable.
Environmentally safe Ecosolvent system
Eco-solvent inks offer customers the outdoor benefits of solvent inks, while
making use possible in a regular office or small print shop environment. There
are no hidden costs for an optional air purification or ventilation system.
Coated and uncoated media can be used for indoor and short- to mid-term outdoor applications. The Eco-solvent inks used in the Océ CS9160 offer an outdoor durability of up to three years, without lamination.
Océ provides a complete assortment of roll-based media including self-adhesive
vinyl, banner and textiles, as well as various indoor and outdoor paper and a range of specialty products.
Information on media compatibility for the Océ CS9160 is presented in the
Océ Media Guide.
Easy-to-use and reliableThe Océ CS9160 offers outdoor printing with the ease of use of an aqueous indoor printer. The operator maintenance of the printer is limited to only five minutes per week.
