Five Océ multifunctionals awarded Blue Angel certificate

Prestigious proof of environment-friendly qualities

Venlo, the Netherlands, 21 June 2006— The award of the prestigious Blue Angel label to five Océ multifunctionals—the Océ VarioPrint 1055/1065/1075 and the 2062/2075—is proof of the products' environment-friendly qualities. The Blue Angel label, which is administered by the renowned German quality assurance and product labelling institute (www.ral.de), is one of the world's most sought-after environmental award for office equipment—but also brings very practical benefits to office users.

Healthier working environment
Products that are awarded Blue Angel certification have fulfilled very strict requirements on emissions of dust, heat, ozone and noise. No carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic substances may be added to the plastics used in casing and toners; the maximum emission levels for volatile organic compounds, ozone and dust may not be exceeded; and noise production (sound power level) may not exceed
75 dB(A).

The five award-winning Océ VarioPrint systems produce virtually no ozone emissions thanks to the use of Océ CopyPress technology and their photoconductors contain no toxic elements. All that adds up to a healthier environment for office workers.

Longer service life
The Blue Angel label is only awarded to products of outstanding quality with a long service life. Certification is only given if spare parts are guaranteed for at least five years after production ends—and that means users can be sure of obtaining parts throughout the long lifecycle of these five Océ VarioPrint systems.

Less waste through recycling
Blue Angel certification means that products cause as little waste as possible. In practical terms, this means that the environmentally friendly design of the five Océ multifunctionals allows parts of the machine to be re-used. For example, the toner bottles are reusable and returnable and the systems can work with recycled paper.

Lower power consumption
The Blue Angel label provides certified evidence that these Océ multifunctionals use as little power as possible when in use and have minimal standby loss, i.e. when not in use.
