United Nations Global Compact

For a number of years Océ has subscribed to the ten principles laid down in the Global Compact of the United Nations. The UN Global Compact asks companies to embrace, support and enact, within their sphere of influence, a set of core values in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment, and anti-corruption.
Each year we will meet one of the commitments we assumed in joining the Global Compact by reporting on the steps we have taken to achieve progress in these areas. In 2003 Océ formulated a corporate human rights policy within the framework of the UN Global Compact. In 2004 we focused on the management of the sustainability aspects of our supply chain. We drafted a Supplier/Partner Declaration, which a selected group of our suppliers and business partners were asked to sign and return, stating that they adhered to the principles laid down in the Global Compact. By far the greater majority of them responded positively to this request.

In 2005 Océ started the formulation of a corporate policy against corruption, as a further implementation of the Océ policy principles. This anti-corruption policy will be formally
approved in 2006.
