Added value on cost and flexibilityThe company benchmark-tested a shortlist of possible printing systems and made a precise assessment of the print costs and productivity of each. The winner on cost and flexibility was the Océ VarioPrint 5000 cutsheet printer series. The key advantages of this solution are its low total costs per document produced, its modular design and its versatility in large format printing. What also swung the decision for DHL Fulfilment was the Océ VarioPrint 5000’s ability to print from 12 input trays, each of which can be addressed individually—so the Océ machines can swiftly alternate between the various formats in DHL’s applications without slowing the workflow in any way.
Triple billing for Océ VarioPrint 5160 DHL Fulfilment opted to install three Océ VarioPrint 5160 cutsheet digital presses in its logistics centre in Bremen. Alongside paper formats up to A3 oversized (432 mm) with a grammage of 60 to 200 g/m², the Océ VarioPrint 5000 can process special media such as perforated, preprinted and coated paper, adhesive labels and tab sheets, and delivers perfect black & white or two-colour prints every time.
Engineered for variability The Océ VarioPrint 5160 cutsheet press brings top-notch performance to a diversity of applications. Users can custom-configure the system by adding their choice of modules. And with one system for a broad range of applications, DHL can make the most of its investment. There is less need for additional machines, less redundancy in resources and less floor space required. DHL Fulfilment is reaping the benefits—with a streamlined print operation that accelerates the fulfilment workflow.
