Custom colours in documents In today's tough business climate, it is essential to stand out from the crowd when communicating with customers. And colour is a vital communicator of identity, above all when it comes to conveying an image to the outside world. The BBBank eG was quick to see the need for colour to accentuate the message of documents, and turned to Océ for help in developing a new colour concept for its business correspondence. A mainstay of corporate identity, colour distinguishes a company at a glance. "Our customers and workforce are already totally used to the BBBank blue," says Jürgen Roth, team manager in marketing services. The company sets great store by the communicative power of this colour. This is why the BBBank now works with Océ CustomTone, a unique toner from Océ that is developed and produced to match the client's particular corporate colour.
Wanted: enhanced document quality The BBBank has always produced its direct mail to clients in its own data centre. The document structure was clear enough, but the design was on the simple side and fell short of the requirements of the marketing people. What the bank wanted was to add style and thrust to the image it projected and to let its benchmarks for quality and long-term value shine through in correspondence. The BBBank was keen to use its documents as a way of telling customers that they are valued-exactly what is communicated by sending out stylish, high profile material-and to adapt the layout and style of direct mail to the altered image.
"We want the look-and-feel of our mailshots to tie in with our new marketing style and to promote the sale of our products," says Roth. Enhanced document quality makes the direct mail more effective as a marketing tool.
Wanted: more flexibility in document production When designing direct mail, the BBBank used to be unable to work with special fonts or colours. To complete the new visual identity in every detail, the bank wanted its documents to reflect all the corporate design elements as fully as possible: the corporate typeface, images, graphics, signatures and, of course, colour. This also means more flexibility and variability in the layout and design. And the outcome is a document that is better at attracting attention and driving home the bank's message.
Océ: the partner of choice "We have worked with Océ in the past and were impressed," explains Rolf Fetz, head of applications engineering at the BBBank. "We were highly satisfied with the customer service and quality of advice. One big advantage is the proximity of the service outlets and the resulting speed of response. No other company was able to match Océ on this. We had talks with a number of other providers, but Océ's offer ultimately carried the day. The printing system outrivals everything else the market currently has to offer".
Solution: enhanced print quality and flexibility The printing system at BBBank, an Océ Demandstream® 6060 DI, provides plenty of flexibility, notably for adding colour to documents. From black-and-white-only to two-colour output, everything is possible, and the 600 dpi resolution guarantees superb quality for every printout, even photos. The bank's standards of excellence are now communicated in its documents: a positive effect for the company and its customers. The Océ solution enables the BBBank to produce high quality direct mail that hits the mark: letters in the corporate typeface that include graphics and signatures and feature the bank's corporate colour. This makes key information easier to read, and accentuates the core message of the letter. Plain-vanilla templates and layouts are out—thanks to the bank's new ability to develop customised print templates and overlays.
The Océ solution for the BBBank The BBBank selected the following Océ solution:
With the Océ solution in place in our in-house data centre, we have the flexibility and capability to produce direct mail that serves as an effective sales and marketing tool", states Rolf Fetz, head of applications engineering at BBBank eG, Karlsruhe, Germany.
