Lasting care for health, safety and the environment
Long before the idea of environmental care gained the importance it has today, Océ was already putting it into practice. For more than a century, care and respect (protection) for the individual and the environment have gone hand in hand at Océ with the healthy pursuit of profit (People, Planet, Profit). Because without sustainable growth, principles will amount to no more than good intentions, and plans for care will remain unfulfilled.
In the development, production and application of Océ products, ultimate care for health, safety and the environment is integrated. For many decades it has been normal practice at Océ that economical considerations are always balanced with ecological arguments. Dozens of environmental certificates and awards testify to our widely recognised ability to match technological innovations with constant improvements in the efficiency with which materials and energy are used. These are combined with progressive reductions in potentially harmful emissions to levels far below legal requirements. It goes without saying that Océ's corporate policy in relation to health, safety and the environment (HSE) is the subject of constant and intense attention in the corporate board, as well as in research & development, production, sales and service. Our reputation is closely linked to our ability to generate sustained, profitable growth under conditions in which care for the individual and the environment sets the standard. This brochure results from the wish of the Océ Corporate Board to provide you with insight into our corporate policy in the area of health, safety and the environment and its implementation.

Responsibility for HSE at Océ
Because of the strong relationship between the key HSE factors of People, Planet and Profit, Océ believes that goal-setting and monitoring of HSE performance must be done at the highest executive level. In the case of Océ this is the Océ Corporate Board. A structure for monitoring and reporting to this board has therefore been put in place. Operational responsibilities are delegated to the management teams of the Océ operating companies, which regularly report on HSE performance to the Océ Corporate Board.
